Supporting Institutions
The capacity of media structure for media organizations and foundations
  • “Improved professionalism, improved information approach” for the NGOs that have media units, but need to focus on how their issues area addressed in the media.
  • The establishment of “Media structure” for such organizations via supporting the following items in each organization of the civil society, which will be relevant to the establishment of media units and raising the abilities of the actual existing units as the following:
    1. The establishment of the archive (that will be relevant to press/ journalism).
    2. The establishment of data base.
    3. The role of the press/ journalism speaker.
    4. The technique of presenting information.
    5. Website designing.
    6. Public relations and talking techniques with media devices/ branches.
    7. The way of writing press releases.
    8. Differentiation between press release and press news.
    9. The usage of the regional and national media for promoting the message of the organization.
    10. Establishment of the trust bridges between the organization and media.
  • And it is suggested to divide the training courses among four governorates, as:
    • Cairo.
    • Alexandria.
    • El Minya.
    • Aswan

    This is to allow the widest range of the civil society organizations to gain the benefit and to strengthen their communication with media.

 
Activities aiming at strengthening protection and ability to access abroad

This task depends on holding a series of workshops and seminars to be attended by journalists, media men and those who are concerned with defending the freedom of media. The events will be aiming to enable an environment for objective media, and supporting media channels in targeted governorates. Topics to be addressed will be the importance of information circulation, reforming media related legislations, encouraging independent media and other relevant topics that are defined to establish a professional and objective media.
